Description

NOT LIKE NEW! NOT CLOSE TO NEW! IT IS BRAND NEW + NEVER USED SINCE BOXED IN 1976 Not only is this a Kenmore Steel Gear 12 Stitch heavy-duty sewing machine, which is a great deal alone, but this is likely the ONLY NEW/UNUSED example anywhere! I bought a group of machines and this box was in it. I saw a styrofoam block with a shiny new pedal inserted on top + thought it was a brand new pedal bought to go with the machine til I opened it. The top post is still taped to the rear side! Theres no use, dust or marks of any kind. I plugged it in + ran it to be sure it worked (I had to be sure) and opened the top to find factory grease on the gears. If youve ever opened one of these vintage beauties, even when used very little, you find marks on the gears, rotating pieces + the plate the needle passes through. Also, the bobbin part that spins back + forth. THIS MACHINE IS NEW. Made in 1976, this 12 Stitch model is solid + heavy. I sell many vintage machines to those who bought a brand new digital, computerized Brother or Singer for $250+ and within 2 years it broke. These old machines are all mechanical, no lights (except the bulb), nothing digital + no push-buttons. Every dial + lever turns cams + gears or works a lever to change a setting. The steel gears are found in only a few older models and theyre far better than the new plastic ones. No teeth to wear down and crack. The 1 amp motor runs a single heavy belt to turn the crank-shaft. Thats it. The reason these last forever + are still used 7 days a week in factories around the world, is if you burn out a motor after 1000s of hours, its an easy swap. Same with a belt. The new ones you need an electronics degree and theres dozens of wires, switches + sensors to remove. The only accessory is the pedal and cord (worth $25 used on ebay alone) though the manual is online. This uses all standard needles, feet and attachments.
