Description
The Count", was a Major League Baseball relief pitcher for 16 seasons, from 1967–1982. He played for the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers, and Chicago White Sox. Lyle played a role in the Yankees' first World Series win in 15 years. In his career, he played in 899 games, with 238 saves and 873 strikeouts. Lyle also co-authored The Bronx Zoo with Peter Golenbock in 1979.
