1978/1979 Bally KISS Pinball Machine This Kiss Pinball Machine was released by Bally Manufacturing Corporation in June 1979 and is the holy-grail to any game room or KISS collection. This numbers-matching machine was restored over 30 years ago and has been in my personal collection in a climate-controlled setting, displayed in an unplayed state ever since. The restoration involved a full disassembly and rebuild, ensuring that every component of the machine was in excellent working order. The cabinet was fully paint restored using the PROPER Bally paint codes (NOT an apron decal). The original legs were sanded and repainted using the proper gun metal color and new leg levelers were installed. All cabinet metal/chrome (lockdown bar, side rails, coin door) was polished. The coin door features an original NOS Bally foil sticker depicting the PROPER Susan B. Anthony design, which most machines found these days do not have but instead have a reproduction generic Bally sticker. An after market button was also installed to allow for coinless free play without the need to open the coin door to manually set. The playing field is an absolutely FLAWLESS original Bally new old stock field that I purchased new and have kept extremely well preserved with polish. It has only had a ball roll on it about a half dozen times! You absolutely WILL NOT find a better genuine Bally KISS playfield than this. No aftermarket decals here. The metal Bally playfield shroud features the geniune original Bally instruction cards. A new sheet of tempered pinball glass was installed. The backglass is original and authentic (not a translite or reproduction) and is in excellent condition. All lamp bulbs throughout the game have been replaced with new lower brightness GE #47 bulbs. New drop targets were installed, along with NOS bumper caps. A 2AA battery supply was installed onto the CPU board so the high score can be retained. All rubbers have recently been replaced, as it is common that they become dry and brittle over time. This pinball machine operates flawlessly and comes complete with its set of keys, the original GENUINE users manual (not a reproduction) and the even more rare GENUINE 1979 Bally parts catalog.
