For back-up power around the home or the jobsite, this portable 5000 Watt generator was used one time for a 12 hour period when the hurricane in summer of 2017 blew through. It was great to have to keep power to our freezer in garage and allow us to dump water from the pool. The generator is easy to start, is easy to move around with a handle that folds down out of place . Operator’s manual is included. Also purchased separately and installed is a rain cover that completely keeps the unit dry and protected for safe use outside. (It’s not safe to use a generator in an enclosed area like a garage or porch). This cover is specifically made for generators and for this model. This was purchased at a cost of $130 and allows use of the generator even if it’s raining. We originally paid $689 + tax + the $130 for the rain cover (=$860). The unit is still under a 3 year warranty through Homelite and Home Depot (2 years remain).
