She is the fastest of all her friends with the same sized bike. Gear ration allows to start easy and to move faster. The bike is very light. Center of gravity is placed lower than on other bikes. It is very manoeuvrable. Bike is equiped with black colored metal mud-guards. In general, the bike looked very presentable. Because of this fact all of children are wnating to try the bike. The bike chain is completely protected by complex metal plate. Pedals step could be adjusted by two positions on pedal lever. It is really easy to stop the bike by two V-brakes. Brakes handles are adjusted for children hands. And quality of construction evenness and coloring is extremely high. My youngest daughter (1.5 years) like this bike too and ask me sometimes to drive her sitting on the bike. We bought this bike to get our daughter off of training wheels. She was a little scared at first but now we can not get her off of it. She is two wheeling all over our property. At first I thought the cost was a bit much for kids bike, but it can passed down to our younger daughter. Very happy with the quality of the bike. Trek just hooked another family on their product. I bought this bike on Saturday for my 6 1/2 year old daughter who had outgrown her 12" bike. She saw this bike on display at the bike store and fell in love with it. She rode the bike all weekend and first thing after she got up Sunday morning she asked "Can I go outside and ride my bike?". Bought thos for my daughter a little over a month ago now. She absolutely loves riding it. She is still using trwining wheels but is rapidly getting better Bought this from LBS after our then five year old showed she could take care of a bike. She commented that it is more comfortable and smoother. She controlls it better too, but that's probably just experiance. I just sort of wish that there was a factory installed three speed option, there are plenty of hills here, and now she's ready for it.
