A new U1 lists for somewhere over $12K, you can save over 50% on this piano and anyone who sees it will think it is brand new. Also you save $1,550 on taxes alone!  The polished ebony 48" tall cabinet shines like new, and the original bench is solid. The strings, pins, brass hardware (anything metal) still has its factory shine....again, check out the pics. You will appreciate the mute rail when you need to play quietly while the kids are asleep and you finally have some time to relax at the piano! This thing plays nice and smooth from bottom to top. No sluggish keys, no sloppy-loose action. You can get a wide range of dynamics out of this piano, too. There just isn't much not to like about this instrument! To add to the appeal of this piano, it is a "Seasoned for Destination" (made for the U.S. market) professional upright....not one that has migrated here from overseas. Yes, it was manufactured in Japan as all of the high-end Yamahas are, but the wood was kiln-dried specifically for shipment to the United States. Now, how much this really matters could be debated but, according to Yamaha Corporation of America, this is a pretty big deal. Some light cracking in the lacquer on the right corner of the keyboard hinge, see photo. There is only one damper pedal. Set of 3 new damper pedals costs $135. My daughter is the piano player and she went to college, moved to Sweden and got engaged. No reason to hold on to it anymore.
