Description

Banana Passionfruit ( Passiflora mollissima ) grown from seed. Flower for reference, my bigger plant already bloomed in winter and produced first fruit! Indoors! A yellow, oval shaped passion fruit with bright yellow skin and orange pulp. Pulp is edible and very tasty. Often used in juice making. Hardy to the mid 20's (F). May defoliate or die back in colder areas but will regrow from roots. When we hit 28F last winter this plant’s older sibling was still outside and didn’t loose a single leaf. After that it stayed in an u heated greenhouse, which was kept above freezing, and it continued to grow all winter long. Very hardy, compared to standard passion fruit.
