Description

For sale is my 08 Wrx that I have meticulously taken care of for the past 6 years. I am the second owner and purchased it back when it had a little over 110k miles. I have since put 50k miles on the car and have done quite a bit of work to it in that time. Ill make a full list of mods but the most notable ones include a 3" downpipe running a stage 2 tune from torquedperformance through an cobb accessport, 17" frs/brz wheels with brand new (less than 100 miles) continental dsw size 225/45r17, frs/brz brake calipers with stainless steal brake lines, a bunch of bushing upgrades, and interior and exterior upgrades such as back seat cup holders and an sti spoiler. A common issue with this generation of Wrx/Sti is the clutch pedal spot welds cracking, I have fixed this issue with a combination of drilling and bolting the spot welds using a kit from Humble Rumble, I also have a brake brace bracket and a clutch master cylinder brace bracket, and finally I had the clutch pedal and assembly replaced at North West Rally sports in Bellingham in order to fully insure that this issue was remedied. A few years back the car was T boned in a parking lot and was fixed through an insurance claim at Fix Auto in south tacoma. There was no frame or suspension damage and you can't even tell that the car was hit. A few of my favorite aspects of this car is first and foremost its ability to drive in snow. I have never once (while using winter tires) have gotten stuck or slidden off the road and the traction that this car has in snow is almost as if you are driving on pavement. Not to mention it's ability to pull off the sickest snow drifts you'll ever do! Another thing that I loved about this car is its versatility. As previously mentioned, I utilized its impressive snow driving capabilities to drive up to Mt. Baker and Snoqualmie/Stevens pass throughout the entirety of its ownership. I probably put over 20k miles driving up the pass. This car is also an incredibly spirited driving car with great handling on both tarmac and gravel. It's rally heritage is very apparent through its driving characteristics. Even though it makes less power than an Sti, I never thought that the car needed to be any faster. Finally, the reason that I am selling is due to it spinning a rod bearing and developing a rod knock at 2k rpm. As previously mentioned, I maintained this car meticulously as to avoid this from happening including installing a Killer B Oil pickup and Installing a oil pressure gauge to monitor psi while driving, however, unfortunately the car still spun a bearing. I would rebuild the motor myself however it isn't financially feasible at the moment and I have too many other car projects that need attention. Given the condition of the car regardless of the rod knock, this would be a great opportunity for someone to either do a motor rebuild or do a cool swap and still have a nice daily. I am very open to discussing price and answer any and all questions you might have. Thank you for reading this far! Mod list: Engine- Accessport stage 2 by torqued performance Perrin induction pipe Cobb intercooler to throttle body pipe Koyo Radiator Killer B oil pickup tube 3" catted downpipe, I think its a CNT? Stock Sti catback Interior- Kartboy short shifter Prosport oil pressure gauge Rear seat center console cupholders Suspension- New KYB struts Sti springs Whittling front swayer 22mm 19mm Sti rear swayer Rear swaybar support brackets transmission bushing inserts rear diff bushing insert kartboy end links front and rear (I have moog front end links with grease fittings installed currently but will include the Kartboy end links) Group N pitch stop mount New from wheel hubs installed shortly before I stopped driving the car 2014 brz brake calipers front and rear with stainless steel brake lines Miscellaneous- 1.25" hitch receiver Yakima roof rack with old school wind fairing Rally Armor mud flaps Rare foglight covers (Took me forever to find these) Tap turn flasher with a bunch of diode dynamics led moduals Im sure there's other stuff I'm forgetting. Car will come with lots of parts and fluids as well as a set of winter wheels.
