This is a Kinetic Road Machine, which is a type of bicycle trainer. It is a fluid resistance model, which uses a sealed fluid chamber to provide a consistent and road-like feel for indoor cycling. These trainers allow a cyclist to mount their own bicycle to the device, converting it into a stationary bike for indoor training. The resistance unit provides the workout challenge, and some models, like the "Smart" versions, can connect to training apps like Zwift and TrainerRoad via Bluetooth or ANT+ to automatically adjust resistance and track performance data. I purchased this for indoor training for the STP and couple of year ago and haven’t used it since I bought it new and it likely only has less then 50 hours on it.
