Antique Framed Lithograph - Alone

Framed 19th cent litho in glass. German artist Heinrich Vosberg’s 1887 “Alone and Forsaken” (“Einsam und Verlassen”). “The print features a moody scene of a lake at dusk with a girl sitting in a boat and the moon reflecting on the water. The girl’s braids, facial features and clothing are beautifully detailed. The treatment of light and shadow conveys stillness; however, when viewing the entire work within the context of the original’s title of “Alone and Forsaken” paired with the girl’s bowed head and stooped shoulders, we can’t help but feel her sadness.” Frame isn’t in the best of shape, but frame and glass look original. Previous owner’s name on back perhaps. The same picture was popular and painted by many artists but this is an original lithograph of the original work. I would look at the hills in the back and say to her row over there and have an adventure to hopefully cure your loneliness.
