Pair of Vintage Thai Teak Ornately Hand Carved Chairs with Matching End Table

These pair of ornately hand carved chairs with matching end table were made from solid, heavy teak wood during the height of Thailand’s logging industry (mid-1960s) in Northern Thailand. Those were the days when teak hardwoods used to be harvested by elephants, when I lived with my family in Bangkok. The chairs include subtly curved frames with round turned finials and scrolled arms. The surface areas are intricately carved with floral lotus reliefs, elevated by handmade floral scrolled legs, sturdily seated on carved claw-like feet. Both chairs include elegantly designed velvet cushions in Thailand’s infamous celadon green color. Chairs measure: 30"H x 28"W x 28”D. End table measures: 16”H x 19”W x 20”D, suitable thick custom glass top with polished edges.
