This is a very cool Antique… Check writing machine. F &E Hedman and company (Fesler and Evan’s) Series T model 8-S It is in exceptional condition for its age with original cover. I have not found one online with all of these details…The metal plate on front it says : protected by…William J Burns, international detective agency. (if I do not know what something means, I look it up ) The machine says… F&E Hedman mfg INC MADE IN USA PRICE F.O.B Chicago $55 Individual die additional $15 Definition: FOB stands for “Free on board” Metal plate says…. machine is.. INSURED AGAINST LOSS ON ALTERED CHECKS The WILLIAMS J BURNS- INTERNATIONAL DETECTIVE AGENCY (founded in 1909) The metal plate on the base says, ….Keep rolls well inked…instructions inside of base. For ink supplies, etc. address Hedman manufacturing company Chicago series T (454614) Model 8-S What a great unique decorative gift for a banker !
