Description
Peterson 34 in great shape looking for new owner. This is a powerful, fast, wonderful sailing boat. “She’s built to deliver about 8 people quickly and safely from point A to point B.” So said the late Doug Peterson of his 34. This one is a 78 and has been well cared for through her life. Raced originally, but updated substantially for cruising around 2000 with electronics, battery charger, galvanic isolator and more. The Yanmar fires up like a charm and has only 790 hours on the meter (and yes, the meter works). Oil and zincs have been changed regularly. The Peterson 34 is known for speed and stability, with a fine entry, but 5000 pounds of ballast 6' down to keep her on her feet in what ever the ocean throws at her. I love sailing this boat, and she has 70s charm with all the teak, but my wife wants something with an aft cabin and shower, and we have found that boat, so Peregrine must find a new owner soon. New running rigging Winches serviced, many blocks replaced and refurbished, all work. Substantial CQR on a roller with a good bit of chain, plus another huge Danforth. Full batten main with new cover is in decent shape, new sunbrella cover, lazy jacks are handy. Yankee cut jib on Harken furler is in good shape. Edson wheel steering. Extra jib in a bag. 1.5 Oz spinnaker in excellent shape, and all sheets and guys ready to go. 0.75 Oz spinnaker is mostly good but some spots need repair. Multiple bilge pumps, including one new with new float switch, new float switches. She has a huge ice box and functional stove. 2 batteries 2 years old, ProMariner charger All manuals, logs, and lots of spare parts for the engine and other systems. Currently has 3-blade fixed prop but I have a Martec folding prop sized for this engine / trans waiting to go on. She is ready for a bottom job Head has been cleaned and rebuilt. There is an old Lectra-san and the wiring for it, so a new one could be put in. Or an option would be a composting head, like all the cool kids nowadays. I have the interior table in my garage (not shown in pics) Priced for a quick sale at $10,500. New boat on the way so Peregrine needs a new home. She can stay here at Holiday Harbor in San Pedro if you are interested. Great little marina with wonderful people, including many sailors who like to share their experience. Slip is $557 / month.
