Description
Appearance: It's a branched succulent with thin, erect to arching stems and triangular, densely packed leaves that are green, sometimes with reddish to brown tones in full sun. The leaves have prominent creamy-white spots and marginal teeth that resemble a tiger's jaws, hence the common name. Care: It thrives in bright, indirect light to low light, and direct sunlight can cause the leaves to turn red or reddish-brown. It requires well-draining soil and tolerates regular to occasional watering in summer, but avoid overwatering in winter. Origin: This species is native to Kenya and is popular in cultivation but rare in its natural habitat. Distinction: It is sometimes confused with Aloe squarrosa, but A. squarrosa has smoother, spotted leaves. Unlike Aloe vera, Tiger Tooth Aloe is not medicinal and should not be consumed or applied to the skin.
