Super rad super fun City Fog board from around 2010. 10 feet long with a glassed-on 10.5-inch fin and leash loop. With the nose carve-out, it rides like a 10-4 or 10-6 board. Medium glassing schedule with overlays for the middle of the deck and the bottom of the tail. These ran about $1500 new. Other dimensions: Nose: 12” Mid: 24” Tail: 9” Thick: 3” Typical pressure dents on the deck. One dime-sized dent in the middle of the hull has been filled and sanded. Three shallow scratches on the underside of the nose have also been filled and sanded smooth. Otherwise in excellent shape. Pick up in Newport “Over the past ten years C. J.Nelson has had 100s of speciality nose riding surfboards. The Mars is a mesh of C.J.'s favorite designs. The radical moon nose allows water to flow into the concave with the least resistance creating a stable ''pontoon'' effect. This is the design that makes nose riding fun and easy for everyone.” —City Fog The NOSERIDER FROM MARS was originally designed in the mid 2000s while CJ was living in Santa Cruz. Wanting to do something that was completely original, CJ spent a lot of time thinking about the physics of nose riding. After an afternoon hanging out at the harbor and watching the catamarans coming and going it all came into view. Opening the front of a beveled concave creating a pontoon effect that creates stability and lift would be the objective. After a few tweaks and a bunch of variations, the NFM was born.
