Large Lamp Made By Apsit Brothers Of California

Apsit Brothers of California, founded by Gary Apsit and his brothers in 1970, designed and manufactured decorative statuary, including lamps. These lamps often depict nautical scenes, and the one in the image features a whimsical fisherman motif. They are typically made of chalkware and are considered collectible items due to their unique design and artistic heritage. The market for these lamps, especially the smaller ones, can range from around $75 to $250, though larger or more rare pieces may command higher prices. This one measures approximately 24” tall, nearly two feet and has a width of about 14” at the base. Extremely detailed and painted beautifully. Each of these was handcrafted in their studios in Los Angeles. This is one of their nicer pieces. Very nautical as well as whimsical. It’s like something out of an amusement park but super cool as decor. Cons- A few chips here and there, hardly visible. Need to buy a new lampshade.
