Vtg Hand Crafted Zardozi Hand Beaded Fabric Star Christmas Ornament. Beautiful gold tone embroidery creating starburst pattern on both side with green and red beads embelishments on a gold tone silky satiny fabric. Edged in gold tone braided trim and is in excellent condition. Diameter is 3". Per internet: Zardozi is built over a metallic gold fabric base, embellished with metallic bullion wire thread (cording), glass bugle beads, round red and green focal beads, and metallic floral-style cup settings. This style of heavy gold bullion wire embroidery combined with intricate beadwork on silk or brocade fabric is a traditional technique called Zardozi, which is primarily handcrafted in India. These ornaments became highly popular as imported holiday imports starting in the late 1980s through the 1990s. Given its materials and construction style, it is safely estimated to be roughly 30 to 40 years old
