Description

New in open box. Never removed. Box had major wear, see pictures. The Prime-8 Action Gorilla toy from I Love Robots, is a toy robot that is shaped like a ball-shaped ape, and travels by way of arms on its sides. It can also stand up by means of retractable legs. The remote control has a lot more buttons than most remote control toys. Besides sending the Prime-8 in the right or left direction, the user can shoot plastic rockets thanks to its detachable launchers and it can Go Bananas, growl, and play games. The games include Dodge Ball, where you try and hit the blue centerpiece with a ball. There is also racing, as well as shooting targets with the plastic rockets. The user can even play a Laser Tag game with another Prime-8 toy. Locomotion: When it comes to active movements, robots typically are known for dancing. While the Prime-8 can do a tap dance, it also has one extra feature that you usually don't see in your typical "bipedal" robot toy: speed. Press the forward button and the Prime-8 hums while it rumbles along at a leisurely pace. Press the turbo button and watch it go. Attitude: Other robots are known to express personality quirks, including sadness. But I've never seen a robot go ape and throw a floor-pounding tantrum quite like the Prime-8. Whether it's because you wake it up from sleep or just switch it into "Going Bananas" mode, this bot certainly has a wild side. It also has some interesting personality traits, like going "shhhh" when it gets all sneaky when set on "Defense Mode." Interactivity: Every robot worth its salt needs to have interactive features. The Prime-8 has its share of interactivity, including responding to tickling and claps. Clapping while it's asleep, for example, makes it mad. Tickling its belly calms its down and makes it laugh. The Prime-8 also has a movement sensor that allows it to surprise unsuspecting passers-by and shoot plastic rockets at them. Then there are the tilt sensor actions, which vary depending on whether the robots is standing up, lying down or placed on its head. The Prime-8 also has programmed games, adding another touch of interactivity. Features: The Prime-8 has several features built in. Besides an attachable launcher that shoots plastic rockets, the robot also can play a few games such as dodgeball and racing. It can even do laser tag with another Prime-8. Control freaks can program their own sequence of moves from the robot ape's staple of animations and have the bot do the sequence with the push of a button. The Prime-8's tilt sensor also typically makes it re-orient itself to a standing position when it falls over.
