Description
This mini foil cloisonné vase is from the early 1900’s. The craftsmanship of this piece is evident in both the vase and its wood stand. The vase is a beautiful pale iridescent blue with 2 swimming koi fish. Koi fish are a popular motif in Japanese art, symbolizing good fortune, perseverance and strength. The stand, although very small, has beautiful carvings all around. Both are truly a work of art. The vase measures approximately 3 1/2” tall. At the lower section of the vase, a small amount of enamel has worn away (please see picture.) Also, the brass base is missing. Otherwise, the colors are vibrant and the details are stunning. These issues have been taken in consideration when determining the price. This piece is a must-have for any collection of Asian antiques or anyone who appreciates the beauty of Oriental craftsmanship. Cash only. Pickup in New Hyde Park, Nassau County, Long Island
