This elegant piece is a hand-carved wooden desk organizer, specifically a stationary rack, made of the rare, aromatic Thuya burl wood native to Morocco. It is characterized by its distinctive arched dividers and rich, figured grain. Thuya wood is prized for the "bird's-eye" patterns and deep amber hues it displays. The item’s tiered, curvilinear design is common in Art Deco and Rococo-style office accessories. Vintage desk decor objects from the early to mid-20th century often appear as handmade artisan pieces, lovingly hand crafted in artisanal workshops across Morocco, namely in the province of Essaouira.
