They slip on to whatever sort of nuts or bolt that you're trying to connect to and easily ratchets it on or off. It can fit nuts or bolts that are between the sizes of 1/4(sae) 7(METRIC) up to the 3/4(SAE) 19(METRIC). The have this sexy brushed metal finish and the grip is good. PERSONAL NOTE: I made a mistake and got two of these so I am selling the other one for cheaper than what I bought it for. I know it doesn't make sense. Anyway, these ratcheting wrenches are amazing. I work in HVAC, and they are so handy to have for all sorts of situations. I know mechanics who have these and they also found great use out of them.
