Description

For sale is a rare vintage Fairchild Channel F gaming system with games. This is a piece of history! It was the first console with a dedicated microprocessor and used interchangeable game cartridges. Released in 1976, it predates the release of other consoles such as the Atari 2600 and Magnavox Odyssey 2. This is the original model and sales numbers are at around 300,000; this is tiny compared to its contemporaries and very few functional units are still around. This posting includes the following: - Channel F console with 2 integrated controllers and integrated original power supply - 4 complete boxed games with instructions: Videocart-4 (Spitfire), Videocart-5 (Space War), Videocart-13 (Robot War, Torpedo Alley), and Videocart-14 (Sonar Search) - Original box - (aftermarket) printed and stapled instruction manual This setup is 100% working, both with the integrated games (the console has pong clones built into it) as well as the 4 videocarts. However, I am very transparent and here are all of the issues as I know them: - the box is VERY worn and shows some water damage. It's amazing that it survived this long (49 years!) but it's definitely not 'mint' - Videocart-5 no longer has the end label. The game is fully functional otherwise. - The power cable has been wrapped with electrical tape in one section, presumably due to exposed wires. This does not affect functionality. - The "L" controller was previously repaired, with an additional green wire added. The analog stick at the top doesn't seem 100% centered. However, the controller seems to be perfectly working Wear and tear aside, this is truly a bit of history. It's been with me for a while now and is rarely played, so I hope it finds a loving home to appreciate it for decades to come. Local pickup in Santa Clara. Thanks for looking.
