1961 Gibson Les Paul (SG) Custom with Sideways Vibrola White

Good condition 1961 Gibson SG Custom in original white. This is a player grade example of a classic piece, and quite rare to find. All three original PAF’s are in the guitar currently, and they sound very chunky. The pickups have gone microphonic, and trait that always seems to add a very interesting characteristic to any older PAF. Minor body repair on the lower bout as pictured. Trem is currently blocked. Pickguard has been swapped for a newer Gibson SG pickguard. Original mustache. Jumbo frets. Tuners have been exchanged for different Gibson tuners. 2 capacitors have been exchanged for newer Gibson caps. Nylon saddles have been upgraded. There is a very old peghead veneer separation that had been repaired, and is very stable. Original finish has some excellent checking throughout the entire guitar. Easily one of the louder SG’s I’ve played acoustically, which is obviously a good sign. Tuners stay in tune and then as they should. All knobs and pickup selector switch have been tested to be working as they should. Light play wear on the back of the guitar, but nothing out of the ordinary for the age. Not much to say outside of this example being a loud, stable, ready to go rock machine that has stories to tell and more make. Comes with newer Gibson USA hard shell case that fits the guitar perfectly. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
