Your coin is a 1741 Spanish 8 Reales “Pillar Dollar”, also called the “Piece of Eight.” 🔎 Identification: Obverse (first image): Shows the famous Pillars of Hercules with a banner reading PLUS ULTRA. Two hemispheres (Old World & New World) rest between the pillars. Inscription: VTRAQUE VNUM = “Both are One” (symbolizing Spain and its colonies united). Date: 1741 Mint mark: I can see an M° → this means Mexico City Mint. Assayer’s initials are also present (the small letters next to the mint mark, usually something like “M, F, or J”), which identify the mint officials who oversaw production. 💰 Value Estimate (as of now): Better condition (like yours, with clear details): $600 – $1,200 High-grade / rare assayer mark: can reach $2,000+
