Description

Overview: Up for sale is this beautiful Japanese woodblock by famed shin hanga artist, Shotei Takahashi (1(contact info removed)). Shotei (born Hiroaki Takahashi) was one of the most influential 20th century woodblock artists, ushering in the shin hanga movement that completely revolutionized the field. This print is titled, "Pleasure Boat Under Full Moon" and shows a geisha woman standing on the prow of a boat under the full moon. A phenomenal print. It is matted and framed in an older black wood frame. Condition: Woodblock print is in good condition. Appears to be laid down on back board. Frame is in fair condition. Missing glass. Measurements: Print measures 13.5 inches high x 6 inches wide (sight). Frame measures approximately 17.75 inches high x 10 inches wide. Print has not been examined outside of the frame.
