In great vintage condition, no chips or cracks. Marked “KW 228” on bottom. Measures approximately 3” tall by 4.75” long. Adorable kewpie lying down with one foot kicked up, winking with a little hand up to their cheek. Has 2 blue wings on its back. Made of bisque porcelain. Kewpie dolls originated from O'Neill's comic strip characters, which first appeared in 1909. They are characterized by their cherubic, baby-like appearance with a distinct topknot of hair, large eyes, rosy cheeks, and a smile.
