Microsoft Xbox 360 S video game console, also known as the "Slim" model. It features built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi for easy connection to Xbox LIVE. The console is Kinect-ready, supporting controller-free gaming. It supports HD movies and TV streaming in 1080p and 5.1 surround sound. Connectivity options include HDMI, USB-A ports, and component RCA. Microsoft Xbox 360 S console, a slimmer, redesigned version of the original Xbox 360. It was first released in North America on June 18, 2010, and included several upgrades over its predecessor.  Key Features and Information -Design The Xbox 360 S features a more angular, gloss or matte black casing and is noticeably smaller and quieter than the original model. Connectivity It includes built-in 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for a separate adapter. It also has a dedicated port for the Kinect motion-sensing peripheral, as well as a total of five USB 2.0 ports and an optical audio out port. Storage The console was available in various configurations, including models with 4 GB of integrated flash storage or a hard drive bay that could support 250 GB, 320 GB, or 500 GB hard drives. Performance The S model introduced a new, more integrated motherboard design (codenamed "Trinity" and later "Corona") that ran cooler and was less prone to the hardware failure issues ("Red Ring of Death") that plagued earlier Xbox 360 models. Market The Xbox 360 S was a commercial success, with the entire Xbox 360 line selling over 84 million units worldwide.
