Description

Selling my 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. This thing is the real deal with the original numbers matching drivetrain and original factory Dark burnt Orange paint from 1970. I bought this unrestored from who I believe was the original owner out of Riverside, the car had sat since 1983 and was garaged. My plan to restore the car was to maintain as much originality as possible and to match the build sheet, which I found a couple in the car but they are brittle to the touch but all the information was there. The car is now done and runs great with no mechanical issues. Exterior: Dark burnt orange original factory paint from 1970, minus the passenger quarter panel below the stripe, this was repainted at one point and you can tell the paint quality was not as good as it was in 1970. I also repainted the engine compartment before putting the motor back in. To get the original paint to shine we used a clay bar and buffing process. This was done about a year ago and the paint still looks great. The build sheet called for a white stripe and white headliner which I replaced and installed. The passenger door had the stripe painted on for some reason and the new stripe did not adhere very well to it but it’s there. In general the original owner dented the car up nice in various spots, including but not limited to the corners and driver door. Bumpers, grill, and other hardware are original but I replaced the emblems/ornaments. Interior: White and black combination with wood trim restored to build sheet specs. Front and back seats were reupholstered, new carpet and front door panels, and new headliner. Other interior goods were restored (cleaned and painted) with the correct color, and seatbelts were replaced. The original dash is still there but it was cracked so I put a dash cover over it. Rallye gauges and switches are all original and mostly working. I also installed a new under dash harness and ignition. The original radio is still there but it’s not connected. I installed a Bluetooth amplifier in the trunk which is wired to two 6x9s that you can connect your phone to for music. Drivetrain: Original numbers matching 383 with original numbers matching 4spd with pistol grip and original sure grip 8 3/4 rear end. The engine, transmission, and rear end have all been rebuilt. Engine has the stock top end but got a medium cam upgrade and runs GREAT. Transmission shifts like new and I installed a 3-1 new clutch kit as well. All the original transmission linkage is there including the reverse lockout. I upgraded the carburetor to a 700 CFM eddy but I saved the original 4bbl holly that came on the car in 1970, this goes with it. The engine also got a new wiring harness, electric fan, and electronic ignition. Other things replaced are radiator, coil, and alternator to name a few. Underneath/other: New mufflers, gas tank, shocks, various suspension parts, breaks, wheel cylinders, and other little things. The floor pan was in great shape and didn’t need to be replaced. The underside is painted with a rhino liner, and so is the trunk pan which I replaced. Odometer shows 8,534, I would assume it’s been around once. Since restoration, I’ve put about 100 or so miles on it. As you can see from the photos, the vin is legible on the dash, transmission, and engine. The fender and door tag are there, and so is the radiator housing vin. I’m including a photo of a couple build sheets that were salvaged. You can garnish enough information from them to fill out a digital one and get a full reading of all the options, this can be provided on request. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Not 70 R/T’s available with full number matching and original 1970 paint. Clean California title. Sold as-is, buyer responsible for all shipping costs and all insurance. Payment must clear before vehicle can be picked up or title transferred. Reach out with any questions, serious inquiries only.
