Description

1970 Alaskan Camper - 8 Foot $2500 OBO Partially restored vintage 8 foot pop-up Alaskan Camper (fits inside an 8 foot truck bed with the tailgate shut). Very solid construction – that’s how it’s still in good shape after more than 50 years. It’s an oldie but goodie, in pretty good shape, with many extras. 74” headroom inside when the roof is raised (via a hydraulic jack), but 18” lower when traveling. Sleeps 2 adults. Upgrades include a 100 watt solar panel mounted on a roof platform, a deep cycle 12 volt battery and inverter, a 12 volt roof vent fan, insulated shades on all windows, new flooring, and a portable toilet which stores in the closet. 3 burner propane stove and refrigerator - the refrigerator doesn’t work, but I will include a newer (working) one which can be installed. Minor water damage in one corner, but I'm pretty sure that I repaired it. When I bought this camper in 2017 it had brackets with 3/4" pipe at the front and back of the camper that could support a canoe or other object on top. The picture with the tailgate shut shows the original roof rack. I added aluminum plates, sealed with marine grade sealant (3M 5200) to re-seal the area where the bolts went through the walls of the camper. I also added a 3/4" plywood platform, and mounted a 100 watt solar panel inset into the platform. There’s more to describe, but if you’ve read this far, text me to hear more.
