G&L L2000 1992 Prototype

Own a piece of G&L and Fender history! Ex Fender employee here. I was able to buy this Fullerton, CA USA made G&L L2000 Prototype from Fender in 2015. It was given to Fender R&D in 1992 to check for any patent infringements. Date stamp proof is in the neck pocket as shown. Also written on the back of the neck heel was “Fender Sealer Only” As G&L used Fender lacquer during their their testing. This bass is one of the greatest basses I’ve ever owned. Unfortunately, I need to let it go. It was refretted in 2015 when I bought it from Fender R&D. Frets are still great, but I played it so much since I bought it. In 2021, I had to install a new stereo jack as the original died. Plays and sounds amazing. A few hits and minor scratches on the body as it’s very old at 33 years and was handed around the Fender and G&L offices for years until I acquired it. Some key specs: Round Lam rosewood fingerboard, alder body, three bolt vintage style neck mounting, two piece maple neck, vintage style truss rod adjust nut. Strung with new DR Dragon Skin + strings. Comes with a deluxe gigbag. This is truly a collectors bass, given the story DM me for further questions. I can also show proof I worked there if need be.
