Description

Overview: Up for sale is this fantastic woodblock print, "Pagoda" by modernist Japanese printmaker, Kiyoshi Saito. It depicts a temple (possibly Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto) in Japan. Saito is famous for being one of the earliest Japanese print artists to move from traditionalist styles and themes to more modern art-style subjects. Print is block-signed, but does not appear to be pencil-signed or numbered. Print comes matted and framed in a period wood frame. There is a plexiglass that covers the print itself. Condition: Print and frame are in excellent condition. Measurements: Print measures approximately 14.625 inches high x 9.75 inches wide (sight). Frame measures approximately 18.625 inches high x 13.75 inches wide.
