Retails for $5000 ! TWO AVAILABLE Make me an offer from the deep thinkers at Monster Cable, the audio cable company, comes through loud and clear in a new series of M*Design InvisiSound frames that also serve as the front speakers in a home theater. As if to prove that no product is too big or expensive to review, I recently auditioned the Eleganza Flat Screen InvisiSound Frame 6000 designed for plasma and LCD sets of up to 50 inches. Caution: This was an audition by a trained professional reviewer; do not try this in your home. The Eleganza is a massive hunk of metal trimmed in light cherry hardwood with a price ($5,000). Guided by its self-proclaimed "head monster," company founder Noel Lee, Monster has become the Bose of audio cables. Its name recognition ends with audio cables, however, so Lee's M*Design subsidiary (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/) is a bit of a gamble. Besides the InvisiSound frames, it includes speakers priced up to $7,000 a pair, subwoofers up to $5,000, hand-finished component centers from $3,500 to $5,000 and "action couches" at $8,000 that bump and grind along with movie soundtracks. Lee must like the monster theme. The InvisiSound 6000 is about 5 1/2 feet wide and 4 high, a frame weighing 104 pounds when unstrapped from its shipping pallet and removed from its oversize box. Behind a snap-off grille on the top bezel are six, 1 1/2-inch titanium drivers on either side of a 1-inch silk tweeter for the high frequencies. Hidden above these 13 little drivers, behind a permanent grille, are six more drivers -- larger (3 1/2 inches) aluminum drivers that deliver the lower frequencies. Imagine this as the center-channel speaker in your home theater. That same alignment of drivers on the other two facing sides of the frame act as the left and right front speakers. That's 57 drivers, three speakers. Speaker wire connects the gold-plated speaker terminals at the base of the InvisiSound Frame 6000 with your receiver, just like any other set of speakers. Music flowed smoothly through the InvisiSound Frame 6000, too. Chip Taylor and Carrie Rodriguez, Austin's favorites, kicked back with "All the Rain" from their "The Trouble With Humans" album. When the music stopped, it was easy to picture the InvisiSound Frame 6000 on the wall wrapped around the plasma. In many cases, the frame will cost more than the television it's showing off. But this is a luxury item, an extremely well-made frame with built-in speakers good enough for most ears. If you want to show off your hot new flat-panel set and won't blink at dropping $5,000 to feel at home in your home theater, then there's no question. Your house is suitable for this frame.
