Why weight? Hilarious Vintage 1972 Chalkware Woman in Curlers from Prelude Creations: This is absolutely, positively politically incorrect and it’s hilarious. Made in 1972 by Prelude Creations, this chalkware woman in curlers, a polka dot nightie, praying fervently while standing on a bathroom scale is one of the funniest vintage sculptures I’ve ever seen and in the 60s and 70s there were a lot of things made that would be questionable by todays standards but were just made to be funny. I don’t think it was made from malicious intent. I think it was made just to get a laugh. I looked all over online for this statue as well as the company that made it. I found very little. This was made some 53 years ago and yes, there are some chips and scrapes but you gotta expect that. It looks like it’s a trinket dish because there is a well at the center of it where you could put loose change, keys, or maybe candies inside of it. The coloring is good and it’s just fun. Asking a very reasonable $65. Things like this do not come up that often - especially for something that can’t even be found online. This is a perfect gift for someone who loves the 70s and made the resolution to finally lose the weight once and for all. Measures 12” H x 8” L. Read one of my other posts for all the particulars and if you don’t already, follow me for more one of a kind finds that’ll definitely blow your mind.
