Description
Collectible Antique Groves Spitfire Compound Bow One of the guys who worked with Oppenheimer and his crew in the Manhattan Project, Groves made bows as a hobby. As an engineer, and in collaboration with other Manhattan Project engineers, he designed and developed a new technique for making recurve bows that set world records and could beat any compound bow early on. Later he got into making his own compound bows, but a lawsuit over the design quickly ended that. They went back to recurve only for another couple decades until Groves died, and then the company ended. This is one of those limited edition compound bows. Metal riser covered in a brown velvety material, limbs are the specially designed beautiful laminated wood he was famous for. Great for personal use, but also probably worth a lot more to the right collector or museum if you have the drive to try to resell it.
