He basically rose to fame after achieving success in the Western TV series Rawhide, and spaghetti westerns in the 1960’s. He is however, most noted for his character of antihero cop Dirty Harry Callahan in the Dirty Harry films throughout the 1970s and 1980s. These roles, among others, have made Eastwood an enduring cultural icon of masculinity.
