Description

This antique manual coffee bean roaster is likely from the 1800s or early 1900s. It features a hand-crank mechanism designed to stir beans for an even roast. These roasters were commonly used for coffee beans or nuts. No markings or patent dates visible to help narrow down the age or origin. Some surface rust, but it just adds to the patina and charm of this old time beauty! Every coffee lover knows that the aroma and taste of coffee depends on the type of coffee and the correct roasting of its beans. Initially, this process took place in cast iron pots, but in order for the beans to be roasted properly, they had to be constantly stirred, which was very difficult. So a coffee roaster was built for coffee. Roasters, like this one, allow you to roast coffee beans in it yourself. This type of roaster is an iron pot with a divided lid. This model has been made since around 1850. Part of the lid is integrated with the pot, and part is placed on a hinge, thanks to which you can quickly fill the jug with coffee beans and visually control the roasting process. A rotating stirrer is installed in the central part of the pot, which sets the roasted coffee beans in motion. The roaster is fully functional, so after thorough cleaning, it can be used for its intended purpose or treated as an element of kitchen or dining room décor. Great vintage/antique condition with wear appropriate for age and use. Approximate measurements: 12 1/2" handle tip to edge of pot 6 1/2" to top of turning handle 6 1/2" diameter to roasting pot THE PHOTOS ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.
