Description

1983 BMW R80RT Roughly 45k miles. I’ve owned this bike and slowly built it over the past 5 years or so. I purchased it from a local custom motorcycle shop while it waiting its turn to be chopped up so I decided to do the deed myself. Carbs rebuilt, valves adjusted and oil changed within the last 2000 miles, Transmission and rear final drive fluid changed within the last 500 miles, brake fluid changed within the last 100 miles. Front tire has less than 2000 miles and rear has less than 500 miles. I painted it BMW’s OEM Dark Green Metallic. I removed the entire wire harness and installed a MotoGadget M unit for a less complicated wiring. The bike does not have turn signals or a horn but it can now easily be added within minutes. It is also keyless and uses an app on my phone as the key itself. The rear seat and cowl was made by Tuffside. The rear subframe itself was built by The Flying Dutchman. The bars consist of a Magura Throttle, clutch lever, brake lever and HC1 Master cylinder. Magura made the OEM parts so I figured it was only appropriate. They rest on a set of Woodcraft 3 piece clip on bars and are held in place by billet triple clamp hardware. The charging system is an Enduralast 4 high input lithium charging system that utilized a modern Ducati stator. The battery has been relocated to under the transmission and is made by Shorai that is wired up for a trickle charger. Rear shocks are made by Kona and are 4 way adjustable. Exhaust is mostly stock with generic slip on mufflers. The front tire is a Dunlop F24 and the rear is a Dunlop D404. I love the bike and never planned on selling it but I just don’t find myself riding it any more. Comes with restored front fender, random BMW specific tools, trickle charger. Price is $7000 and I'm located in Oceanside, Ca. Can ride it to meet you half way depending on where you're located.
