This is a large, hand-cast brass sculpture of a Deep Lakshmi (also known as Deepa Lakshmi or Deep Devi), a traditional Indian figure representing light, grace, and auspiciousness. Design & Iconography: The figure stands atop an inverted lotus base (padmapitha), holding a traditional, spout-lipped oil bowl (diya) designed to hold oil and a wick, light, or tea candles. She wears detailed traditional jewelry, an ornate waistband with decorative draped garments, a halo-like hair dress (prabhavali), and features two stylized peacocks perched on her shoulders. Craftsmanship: Cast in solid brass/bronze alloy using traditional sand or lost-wax casting methods common in South Indian metalcraft, featuring a rich aged patina. Dimensions: Approximately 38 inches (3 feet 2 inches) tall.
