Sept 1863. This is an interesting document signed by the States Attorney Russel S. Taft, a lifelong Republican and Vermont statesman as the States Attorney, Lt. Governor, and Supreme Court Chief Justice of Vermont. This document charges William Gordon of Bolton with selling intoxicating liquors without authority contrary to the force and effect of the statue in such case made and proved against the peace and dignity of the state. Comes in a protector sleeve and backing board. Pick up in James Island near folly beach.
