While the Arcam FMJAV8 is a pre-HDMI preamp/processor, it was built from the ground up in the UK to functions as a superb 2-channel analog and digital preamp, using premium Dacs and Opamps. With 7.1 THX 2 Ultra certification it is also great for movies and HT offering 1080p video through a studio-grade component video switcher, with OSD. It also has an 8-channel RCA input/bypass that can be used for high resolution, multichannel audio, or I use an HDMI adapter and extractor for high-res movies and music. Each source is fully customizable for speaker size, levels, crossovers, volume, etc making it easy to store configurations for music and movies. The sound quality still exceeds many current receivers on the market, especially when paired with good amps. Great Condition, inside and out.
