Model number 1857, this piece features a stunning raised relief floral design with stylized daisies and foliate panels in soft ivory against a pale blue ground. Its large size and elegant proportions make it ideal as a dramatic indoor planter, umbrella stand, or stand-alone decorative statement. Stamped clearly on the base with “BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE 1857 ENGLAND” along with artist/modeler's marks, this jardinière is an excellent example of Victorian English art pottery, highly sought after by collectors of Majolica, Art Nouveau, and aesthetic movement ceramics.
