Description

Local pickup discount $850 This is a Birger Christensen Canadian Lynx fur full length coat with a (no brand) fox fur removable collar/headband in great used condition. No signs of damage to the interior or exterior. The fox collar/headband is also in great used condition. The winter prime fur is in excellent shape, very soft with no tears or odors. Lovely spotted areas from belly fur make the sleeves pop. This coat make an excellent addition to any winter wardrobe at an affordable price. This fur is AMAZINGLY soft and was regularly cleaned and cold stored when not in use. This is evident from the stitching on the lining. When fur coats go to a reputable furrier for storage they first clean and condition it, which means removing the lining to check the condition of the leather side then sewing the lining back on before storing. The overall condition of this coat is better than more modern used fur coats that I’ve seen, with no signs of rubbed spots, no discoloration, and no weakness in the shoulder and armpit areas. Interior lining is cream colored with concealed interior pocket on the right hand side (slight staining of the interior shoulder, see picture). One hook and loop closure in the front along with two concealed exterior pockets. The collar/headband is red fox fur and measures 28 inches total length. It is a dorsal strip from neck to bottom so the fur does transition from the thinner neck fur to the thicker back fur. I notice this because I’m nit picky, I don’t believe it would be noticeable while wearing. Coat measurements are: 24 inch sleeve 17 inch shoulders 44 inch bust 46 inch hem 58 inch sweep I am 5’3” and this coat reaches my feet. Serious trip hazard if I were to wear it because I’m a klutz and can’t wear heels without killing myself. I think this beauty would fit a medium well, and snug on large. Size estimates are my own so please check your measurements and reference the list above before buying. Please message me for any questions or additional pictures if you want to. I’m happy to give any additional information that will make you feel more secure with your purchase up to and including making a video of the product to address any concerns. How to spot Canadian lynx fur : The Lynx and the bobcat (Red Lynx) are both in the Lynx family, but there are some differences that should be noted. The bobcat has more defined spotting all over the brown body and white belly and is quite a bit smaller than the Canadian Lynx. Depending on the range from which they’re taken, the bobcat has shorter, thinner fur with body spots that pop. If you see a coat that has very defined body spots, it’s likely bobcat. The Canadian Lynx, named for its range, has less defined spotting on the body (which can vary in color) except for the white belly fur, especially during winter which is when they have the desirable thicker and softer fur. Lynx (all types) fur doesn’t shed and is one of the reasons why it is very desirable as a coat, and adds to the price. Canadian Lynx is also more expensive than bobcat (also called American Lynx or American cat by furriers) as Canadian Lynx is one of the rarest legal furs. Brand new, a Canadian Lynx fur vest can cost you 5k while a full length coat can run from 10k-100k. All very good reasons to buy pre-owned, well cared for coats!
