Please note: this guitar was previously purchased by a buyer here on Reverb. The guitar was returned to me as the result of a postage error, in which the guitar suffered some top damage as pictured during shipment (FedEx, per usual). Currently, the guitar is in the hands of Gerald at Music City Vintage Guitars in Nashville, where we will simply be regluing the damaged top, and reattaching a loose brace. I wanted to post this guitar again for sale to drum back up some attention, as some buyers have an interest in working out a price post-repair. Very good condition 1938 Gibson L-00 in an original black finish. No breaks. All original outside of the upgraded bridge pins. Original pickguard. Original finish has some play wear, but is very clean for the age. All top cracks have been professionally repaired and cleated. They are not moving at all. Tuners work well. Intonation is on. Super clear and crisp high end on this example, with a mid range that cuts very well. Action is nice and low. Frets have play wear, but are still in a good spot. Such a nice finger picker. Very inspiring as a songwriting guitar. I’ve always wanted to own one of these, and I thoroughly believe the hype behind these models. For being the cheapest guitar in the Gibson line when released, they really deliver. Nice and light. Comes with pictured hard shell case that fits the guitar well. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
