Vintage 1953 Selmer Super Balanced Action Alto Saxophone

Phenomenal '53 Selmer SBA alto saxophone! This horn comes from the absolute prime era of Selmer saxophones when they were modernizing many elements of the saxophone and leading much of the world in defining the instrument as we know it. Sleek, balanced keywork (hence the model name), full and colorful vintage tone, and remarkably even response at all dynamics across the range that is extremely difficult to find even among other professional model saxophones. This was the first Selmer alto sax I fell in love with - it's hard to put into words what it does differently from other horns (even other Selmers of the same era), but I have no qualms about calling this horn a player. It was relacquered at some point in its life, but the finish is stunning and suits its vintage character surprisingly well. I'm only selling because I acquired another SBA that I'm slightly partial to, and I absolutely can't justify keeping both! Perfect playing condition (this horn has been maintained and adjusted regularly since I bought it) and comes in a vintage Selmer case.
