Description
From my Grandfather's toolbox, here is a pair of Vintage Williams 1520 Slip-Joint Waterpump Pliers. These are marked with the Williams "scroll" logo and the model number only. They have an 8-position slip-joint, allowing for a parallel grip of up to 1.8 inches. The distinctive diamond knurling on the handle was intended to make this model of pliers easier to grip. That feature also makes this a relatively rare set of pliers and dates them from between 1947 (their 1st appearance in the Williams catalog) to sometime in the 1950s. This pair is likely 70 to 78 years old. Good vintage condition. This was a tool that was built to last, and this one certainly has! The diamond pattern is well-preserved. A distinctive and unusual find for the collector! Local (Cincinnati-area) pickup only.
