Mike Scioscia Rally Monkey Mike Scioscia was the manager of the Angels from 2000 to 2018 and led the team to their first and only World Series championship in 2002. The Rally Monkey became a fan-favorite and legendary symbol during that 2002 season. During the 2002 postseason, it became a full-blown phenomenon — especially after the Angels staged multiple comebacks, often while the Rally Monkey flashed on the screen with hype music and clips of a white-haired Capuchin monkey jumping around. The team rallied from a 5-run deficit in Game 6 of the 2002 World Series against the Giants, forcing Game 7 and ultimately winning it all — solidifying the Rally Monkey’s place in baseball lore.
