The Agave Americana 'Marginata' is a large, slowly-clumping succulent with rosettes of curly green leaves that bring a unique flair wherever it’s planted. The foliage of the Variegated Century Plant, a type of Agave, features a unique shape and sharp spikes. Leaves stem from a central stalk, arching out and taking on a curved shape. Named for its long lifespan, the Variegated Century Plant can live several decades. Agave Americana 'Marginata' is usually cultivated outdoors in rock gardens, in cactus and succulent gardens. They need full sun and a very well-drained, slightly acidic, sandy or gravely soil. They often used in a large pot as a patio plant which can be moved around to change the scenery or positioned to give more shelter. It can also be grown indoors in smaller containers, which inhibits its growth.
