Description

The ultimate camping vehicle! This van can sleep 3-7 people. It makes for the perfect base camp when out in the wild. It's basically a rolling two story rustic cabin. This is a Eurovan Westfalia MV model. That means it doesn't have the small kitchenette that the Winnebago models do. Think of it more like a two story metal tent instead of a tiny RV. It does have a fold out table and built-in auxiliary power supply for all your lighting and power needs. This comes from a second battery located under the driver's seat that runs the interior lights and stereo, which also has a converter installed with outlets for charging devices. The van has been well maintained. It's rust free and most of the suspension system is entirely new. I have the maintenance records detailing the parts which have been replaced. The VR6 engine runs well and can easily overtake another car on the highway, unlike the notoriously underpowered previous models of VW vans. The only issue with this vehicle is DEQ. Sadly, It simply won't pass without a costly engine overall. Again, the engine runs really well (listen to the audio on the video). However, the computer is throwing a few different codes. One of them, the "crankshaft position sensor" is the critical problem. The quote to fix it was $8,000 due to the amount of labor involved. I'll include the invoice in the vehicle's paperwork. Shopping around to other shops might return cheaper repair costs. Vehicle Facts: Year: 2001 Make: Volkswagen Model: Eurovan Westfalia MV Engine: VR6 - 2.8L - 24 Valve - 201 Horsepower @ 6200 rpm. Mileage: 193,XXX The Pros: Well maintained with many parts replaced over the years. Maintenance records for history of the vehicle. Pop top camp tent with two windows and bug nets. OEM screens for sliding windows included Kenwood Stereo Head Unit for good sound. Passenger seat 180 degree pivot base installed. You can flip the passenger seat backwards. Great for creating a "living room" feel when parked. Purchased from https://offerup.com/redirect/?o=R29XZXN0eS5jb20= Floor carpet was replaced with a durable/scrubbable vinyl surface. It was a kit from https://offerup.com/redirect/?o=R29XZXN0eS5jb20= ARB extendable Sun/Rain shade mounted over the sliding door. Thule roof rails installed - ready to attach anything! Hitch mount for additional accessories/storage. Hitch mount bike rack included. 4 bike capacity. The BEST car camper! The Cons: Body damage on sliding door. Simply cosmetic. Interior captain seats not included. (the prior owner removed them) This increases the interior room dramatically, but reduces seating to five people. Check engine light is permanently on - Will not pass Portland DEQ. Currently needs to be titled outside of DEQ zone to get registration unless fixed. Codes: PO345 - Camshaft Position Sensor. PO171 - Fuel Trim System Too Lean. P1296 - Error in Mapped Cooling System (Usually Temp Sensor or THermostat) Serious Inquiries only please. I'm willing to negotiate to find a fair price.
