For sale is a magnificent antique mantel clock from the renowned German manufacturer Schmid-Schlenker (marked "Schmid" on the dial and "SSS FABRIK MARKE" on the movement). !!! IMPORTANT: THE CLOCK IS NOT WORKING !!! The clock is sold "as-is" — for restoration, for parts, or as a luxurious decor piece for a classic interior. THE POSITIVES: • 100% Original: All parts appear original, including the movement, pendulum, and winding key. • Luxurious Appearance: The case is finished in the "Vernis Martin" style — a deep burgundy lacquer with delicate hand-painted floral garlands. • Perfect Dial: The rich gilt-brass dial features a guilloché pattern and 12 white enamel cartouches (numeral plaques) in perfect condition, with no chips. • Complete Set: Comes with the original brass "sunburst" pendulum and the original winding key. THE NEGATIVES: • Movement: The movement (which strikes on a bell) does not run. It will require cleaning, servicing, or repair by a watchmaker. • Cosmetics: There are chips in the lacquer and scuffs on the case, primarily at the base and on the back (shown in detail in the photos).
