Vintage Art Deco Solid Birch Vanity Table - Russel Wright Stardust MCM

Vintage 1930s / 1940s solid birch 7-drawer vanity or dressing table with attached mirror. Quality construction. Solid wood throughout with rounded edges and dovetailed drawer construction. Amber shellac finish. Streamlined design with integrated recessed drawer handles on the underside. Manufactured by Forest Furniture from the Stardust series and marked "515 Star Dust" on the backside. Design is often attributed to Russel Wright. Great minimalist Art Deco design comparable to Heywood Wakefield and Conant Ball furniture from the same era. Integrates well with mid century modern pieces. Can be used as a desk, but it is about 1-2" lower than standard desk height. Vanity measures 43-1/2"w x 28-1/2"h x 19"d. The kneehole space measures 20"w x 22"h x 19"d. The attached (and removable) mirror is 31-1/4"h x 38"w. Condition is VERY GOOD vintage condition. Solid and sturdy with no wobble. Structurally sound with no repairs and no modifications. There are some small wood splits / panel separation present in numerous areas, but none that ultimately detract. A few chips are present at the corners and connection points where some of the wood has been chiped away. Drawers open and close appropriately and all slides/glides are in good repair. The mirror attachments are secure. Cosmetically, there are limited surface scratches present and some minor blotchiness throughout with slight color variation. The back wall of the knee hole area has significant deep scratches. A few stains are present as well as some extremely faint water marks. The original mirror glass has some streak marks and cloudiness behind the glass (cannot be cleaned). Photos reveal more condition details. Priced is $350.
